Cemlyn Bay

A quiet shingle beach backed by a lagoon that is an important nature reserve. As far as I know there are no 'forces-of-nature' sports that take place here and the beach has no facilites except two large car parks. An ideal beach for bird-watching and beach combing. This N facing pebbly beach of Cemlyn Bay is partly controlled by the Wildlife Trust so access may be difficult. The condition of the beach is very poor and numerous rocks tend to damage equipment easily. There are plenty of other places to sail and most of them will have much nicer beaches, which is why this spot is not popular with the locals.

Getting there: Head SE on the A5 from Holyhead, turn left onto the A5025 when you reach Valley. Head for the Cemlyn Nature Reserve, the beach is N of the Reserve
